At Ferrexpo, Poltava GZK put into operation one of the 3 large centrifugal fans supplied by REITZ INDIA, with the first in Ukraine system of automatic balancing of the rotor during operation. Fans with a capacity of 2650 kW, with an impeller diameter of about 3 meters, with frequency control, will work in difficult technological conditions of the iron ore coil roasting area, which is the main export item of the Ferrexpo company, therefore their parts are made of duplex stainless steel, which ensures acid resistance. sulfuric acid vapors. And to ensure protection against abrasive wear, the flow part of the fan is lined with hard alloy surfacing with tungsten carbide on the wear-prone elements of the impeller. The fan shaft is protected from corrosion by a stainless steel casing.
In the construction of fans, for the first time in Ukraine, innovative technologies were implemented, thanks to which dynamic balancing of the rotor, as well as cleaning of the impeller from unevenly adhering dust, is performed while the fan is running, without stopping it. Does it sound incredible? But it already works! After all, downtime due to wear and tear of fan parts costs millions, so REITZ offered Ferrexpo individual solutions to increase maintenance intervals and reduce time for technological maintenance:
-
To combat the imbalance, 2 balancing loads of the Autobalancer AB9000 continuous balancing system of the German company Hofmann are installed on the fan shaft. The measuring equipment of the balancing system monitors the vibration caused by the imbalance and, if necessary, performs a balancing cycle by correcting the position of the balancing loads rotating with the shaft.
-
To reduce deposits on the blades of the impeller, a continuous compressed air cleaning system is placed inside the fan, which acts preventively, preventing dust from sticking to the impeller during operation.
Installation and commissioning works were performed in 3 weeks under the supervision of experienced service engineers of REITZ, Masibus and Berdychiv machine-building plant "Progres", which is authorized to provide full service support for REITZGROUP equipment in Ukraine.
While the fan runs its first hour, a second similar fan is already being prepared for installation, which will be installed on the 1st technological line of TsPO-2 in April-May of this year.
