HISTORY OF "PROGRESS"

Founded in 1880 by the merchants M.K.Plakhetskiy and I.M. Doberskiy. Mechanical and foundry works was transformed into. Association of machine-building plant "Progress? after inviting process engineer N.F.Barsukov as a partner in 1895. At the same time the application to the department of trade and manufactures was submitted and registration project was presented for approval. On June 29, 1896 the tzar Nickolay II approved the charter of. The Society of Machine-building Plant "Progress" with basic capital amounting to 350 thousand roubles and pack of shares - each having the cost of 350 roubles .

At the beginning of the XX century the Swiss man F.G. Enni became the plant director-supervisor, while G.G.Enni and P.I.Gomola were elected directors . Later on almost total basic capital was accumulated in the hands of the Swiss people Enni. The Board of the joint-stock company had a seat in Kiev. In 1910 the meeting of the joint-stock company adopted a decision on the increase of the capital by 170 thousand roubles and on the additional emission of shares. In 1913 the total cost of the manufactured goods constituted, a fabulously big sum - 1 477 266 roubles. When the war started the factory fulfilled the orders of the military institutions, railways and other bodies.

Within the Soviet period the factory was restored and started developing  acquiring good reputation with the state bodies and customers.
During the period of economy formation of the newly independent state of Ukraine the factory never stopped its activities but kept enlarging production facilities, increasing production range, restoring old connections and establishing new ones, searching new markets, partners and customers .

In 1999 for the first time in the last decade all the goods produced found their buyers, plans were overfulfilled , export deliveries exceeded 50 %, profits and worker?s salaries were up. In 1996 - 100 years later - the factory was again converted into a joint-stock company.

In 2000 Trading House of plant "Progress" was established
